My name is Diane Gribschaw and I am so glad you’re here. We have quite a bit in common, you and I. We’re both trying to make a living and a life doing something we care deeply about.
That means we both have to talk about ourselves and explain what we do, why we’re good and why we should be chosen over anyone else trying to do that same thing.
Not an easy job. In fact, if you’re running a non-profit or a small business it can be extremely stressful and difficult. But doing it well is absolutely critical to your success.
That’s where I come in.
I’m Diane and I love writing.
Keep reading to find out how I got here and how I can help you get to where you want to be.
Communication though the written word is something I started working on before I even knew how to write. I’d try to memorize the exact words people said so I could write them down later – once I’d mastered the alphabet, that is.
Even though I always knew I was a writer, like many people on the path to their dreams, I took the long, scenic route. Looking back, of course, it seems very obvious: I critiqued cereal boxes when I was 11 and practiced writing better shampoo labels.
My college entrance essay to USC was a full page advertisement for Silly Putty (TM) – and yes, they actually let me in. I majored in Communications, but transferred to the University of Arizona and completed my BA in English.
After several months selling cars – you knew a sales job had to be in there somewhere, right? I went on to get a Masters degree in Financial Management, and worked as the Assistant to the Director of Marketing for the University’s Theatre Arts Department where I spent two years learning the ins and outs of fundraising, non-profit marketing and the magic of theatre.
All those hours in the theatre had a deep impact on my writing and a few years ago, I took the plunge and tackled playwriting in earnest. I’m currently active in two Bay Area playwriting groups and have had my work staged locally as well.
While you may wonder what good a playwright could do for your business, consider that my job is to “get into the head” of your clients and customers, understand what motivates them and how to talk to them in a language they understand. Nobody does that sort of thing better than a playwright.
So, now what?
If you’ve never worked with a professional writer before, I understand that this is a big step to take. You might wonder if it’s worth your time and money. I can’t tell you that. What I can tell you is that with writing, you very often get what you pay for. Drop me a line and let’s connect.
We’re only on this Earth for a short period of time, don’t waste a single moment. Fill out the form below and I’ll get back to you as quick as I can.un
